Support for Refugees & Asylum Seekers

As well as being able to access our wider support services for BME people across Wales, we offer specific support, advice and guidance for asylum-seekers and refugees:

In Swansea, we have the Asylum Seeker & Refugee Advice Service/ Asylum Rights Project which offers appointment-based advice from the EYST offices in Swansea in half-hour slots every weekday from Monday to Friday 10am-3pm. Arabic speakers and other languages are available on request. Call 01792 466980/1 for an appointment or email Aliya@eyst.org.uk  or Sophie@eyst.org.uk

In Swansea, Powys & Carmarthenshire, EYST provides Orientation support for newly arrived Syrian and vulnerable families under the Home Office Syrian Resettlement Scheme. For more info, please email Helal@eyst.org.uk

EYST is part of and currently chairs the Welsh Refugee Coalition which is a coalition of organisations working in Wales with asylum seekers and refugees at all stages of their journey, and with the communities in which they live. Through collaborative work, the Coalition aims to contribute to a more equal, globally responsible Wales with cohesive communities to make Wales a welcoming place of safety where rights are enjoyed and asylum seekers and refugees can thrive. The Coalition aims to sustain engagement with the Welsh Government, UK Government and public decision-makers to ensure policies have a positive impact on the lives of asylum seekers and refugees and their integration into Welsh communities. It also aims to promote understanding of asylum and refugee rights and issues and enable asylum seeker and refugee voices to be heard.
